How do I fix my mold problem?

The certified experts at Advanced Microbial Remediation (AMR) are ready to help with your mold problem. Our employees are armed with the latest education and training to ensure your home is healthy and safe.

If you think you have a mold problem, give us a call and our mold inspection expert will determine the extent of any contamination. The inspector will also locate the source of your moisture intrusion, which must be fixed in order to prevent further mold growth.

AMR employees are Certified Mold Remediation Contractors. Mold remediation is the process of isolating, removing and/or cleaning materials that have microbial contamination. Once we have restored your property, our inspector comes out for a final inspection and clearance test.

MYTH: I can clean the mold myself with bleach.

OSHA and the EPA have both announced a departure from the use of chlorine bleach in mold remediation. At Advanced Microbial Remediation, we have a team of certified experts ready to help with your mold problem. Our knowledgeable employees will take care of you throughout the process, from mold inspection to removal and reconstruction.

What is Mold?

Mold is a microscopic organism that grows from spores. Mold spores waft through the indoor and outdoor air continually. When mold spores find a water source, they may begin growing. There are molds that can grow on wood, paper, carpet and other organic materials. An unfixed or unnoticed water leak indoors often results in mold growth.

The Harmful Effects of Mold

In 2004, the Institute of Medicine (IOM) found there was sufficient evidence to link indoor exposure to mold with upper respiratory tract symptoms, coughing, and wheezing in otherwise healthy people. The IOM also found evidence linking indoor mold exposure and respiratory illness in otherwise healthy children.

Not only unhealthy for your lungs, mold may play a role in depression risk, says a study published in the American Journal of Public Health. Evidence also suggests that mold may weaken the function of a brain region responsible for regulating emotion. Mold-related health troubles, like wheezing and fatigue, might also influence depression risk.

Do I Need a Mold Inspector or Remediator?

Mold growth is virtually inevitable if a moisture problem is not controlled. If you think you have a mold problem, call us. Our mold inspection experts will determine the extent of any contamination. In addition to discovering the type and extent of a mold problem, our professional mold inspectors will look for the source of your moisture intrusion. Moisture problems need to be identified and corrected as soon as possible because mold can start to grow within 24 to 48 hours after a water intrusion.

Since there are no guidelines or standards in the mold inspection and/or remediation industry, it is very important that you hire a mold professional to identify and correct any mold problems. We work with only the highest qualified inspectors and contractors to ensure a quality job every time.

Below are many of the concerns that are often brought up when dealing with mold. If you have a problem with something not listed below, give us a call.
